Christmas Is A One Day Event

The Christmas break is a great time to relax, have fun and catch up with friends, but keep in mind Christmas is a one day event!

It can be tempting to tell yourself, “I’m on holidays so the healthy eating can be put on hold” and this is true, but if you tell yourself this every day over summer, just imagine how much bad food (and drink) you’re going to consume?

You’ve (hopefully) worked hard for that new body of yours, and you don’t want to throw it all away with lack of discipline!

Bailey’s Bodies does shut down over Christmas so everyone — including our personal trainers — can relax and enjoy the summer, but make sure remember what your long term goals are. If you’re looking to lose weight and get fit, drinking and eating everything you want for a few months might put you a long way behind your goals. It’s up to you to decide which is more important for you!

Do you want to give into temptation and enjoy that chocolate cake followed by too many bottles of wine, or do you want to stay on target and work towards that lean and toned body?

Just because the boot camps aren’t running over the Christmas break doesn’t mean that you can’t keep training. As we’ve mentioned in the past, there’s plenty of fun runs and fitness events on over summer, so maybe you can train towards that goal over the summer break?

You don’t need expensive gym equipment to do a quick circuit workout at home. With no equipment at all you can do a bodyweight exercise routine that will get your metabolism firing! Get yourself a stop-watch and do the following:

  • Maximum push ups in 45 seconds
  • 15 seconds rest
  • Maximum sit ups in 45 seconds
  • 15 seconds rest
  • Maximum squats for 45 seconds
  • 15 seconds rest

Repeat that four times in a row and try tell me that doesn’t get your heart going! If you want to make things harder, try adding harder variations into the mix. Try doing burpees instead of push ups, or squat jumps instead of squats.

There is an unlimited amount of variations that can be done to give you a full body workout! We’ll be posting regular workout ideas on our Facebook page, so make sure you like our page to keep up to date!

I know I’m excited to finish the year strong with both my training, and helping you guys achieve your goals, but at the end of the day, life should be about having fun. Just don’t throw away your years of work just to enjoy the short term benefits of giving into cravings.
